The Ambassador of Philippines to the Republic of South Africa, Mr Joseph Gerard B.Angeles, paid a courtesy call on 05 October 2018 on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
In a statement, Ambassador Angeles highlighted that Mauritius and Philippines will further consolidate bilateral ties in view of reinforcing the economic relations between the two countries. The Ambassador spoke of the existing diplomatic relations while adding that they will continue working together with the objective of strengthening country-to-country and people-to-people ties.
He also expressed the interests of Philippines to cooperate with Mauritius in possible sectors and explore new avenues of cooperation.
Ambassador Joseph Gerard B. Angeles assumed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of South Africa on 21 August 2014.He is a career diplomat who joined the Philippine Foreign Service in 1992 and passed the Foreign Service Officers Examination in 1991. He is a member of both the Philippine Bar and the New York Bar, USA.
