Bungoma cracks down on corrupt officers

Bungoma County has put on notice County Revenue Collectors involved in fraudulent activities, attributing the decline of the county’s revenue base to their corrupt activities.

Speaking on Thursday during a ceremony to hand over motorcycles to Ward Revenue Officers at Mabanga ATC, Governor Kenneth Lusaka emphasised that any officers found engaging in such activities would face severe consequences.

He stated that the county is committed to boosting its revenue base, noting that counties could no longer solely rely on allocations from the National Government.

Lusaka also cautioned Law Enforcement Officers against overstepping their mandate by posing as revenue collectors.
