Nyandarua County Commissioner on Mashujaa Day celebrations lauded residents in Nyandarua for their cooperation with local administration.
Abdilasaak Jaldesa applauded and termed them as heroes in conservation of the environment for working closely with the local administration and local elected leaders in planting trees in Aberdare Forest.
The county commissioner retaliated that because of this Nyandarua County has been able to preserve Aberdare water tower which is very crucial for supply of water in dry areas in the country such as Isiolo and Wajir.
Jaldesa also appreciated the residents of Aberdare Sub County as well as those from Nyandarua West Sub County for promptly reporting suspicious activities within their locality which has fast tracked arrest of some individuals implicated in stock theft.
He particularly noted of recent arrest of two motorcycle riders with stolen sheep clothes like human beings; in skirts and scarfs, a case which is being followed up by the DCI from Aberdare Sub County.

tionally, the county commissioner pointed out that the security agency is inspecting every motorcycle rider operating in the area around 9.00pm and 10.00pm to ensure the illegal activity is contained however warned those involved and using various tactics to evade the security agency their days are numbered.
On illicit brew and second-generation alcohol, Jaldesa said that the ongoing program to contain the vice is bearing fruit, commending the local community for cooperation which recently led to confiscation of thousands of litres of second generation alcohol at Mwireri village in Nyandarua west sub county.
The culprit who managed to evade the security agency is said to use a rental house to refill and package the second-generation alcohol before selling to unsuspecting revelers in Nyahururu town.
He called upon the land lords to ensure they keep records of their tenants and to know the purpose of renting their premises citing that some are town dwellers who are renting deep in rural areas to carry out th
eir dubious activities.
On registration of Social Health Insurance, Jaldesa said the process is continuous and is spearheaded by chiefs at location level urging members of public to register whether they have money or not adding that the government will leave no one behind.
