As regards resolving the issue of water loss due to pipe leakages, he remarked that the CWA is undertaking replacement of damaged water pipes across the country.

As for Minister Naveena Ramyad, she expressed satisfaction that the setting up of the New Service Reservoir will cater for the water needs of the surrounding region while the Sub-Office will increase the efficiency of CWA Officers to cater to the needs of the inhabitants of the regions.

The Minister spoke of the importance of storing one’s own water in times of restricted water supply, recalling that the Government provides a
Water Tank Grant Scheme to enable households to store water for their own use. Government, she recalled, has increased the income eligibility threshold anew to enable a larger number of persons to avail of this facility.
