Ouagadougou: The Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Roland Somda, officially installed the National Organizing Committee for the 36th edition of the Tour International du Faso, set to occur from October 24 to November 2, 2025, across the main routes of Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the newly formed National Organizing Committee is comprised of a supervisory unit, a presidency unit, and twelve specialized committees. The supervisory unit is led by Adelphe Sanou, a technical advisor to the Ministry of Sports, while the presidency unit is chaired by Ignace Berewoudougou, the president of the Burkinabe Cycling Federation.
The twelve committees within the organization include the finance committee, logistics and equipment committee, accommodation and catering committee, administration and secretariat committee, technical committee, security committee, health committee, anti-doping committee, press committee, advertising management committee, team management committee, and protocol committee.
Roland Somda emphasized the committee’s mission to orchestrate the 36th Tour Cycliste International du Faso, highlighting the necessity for the committee members to collaborate effectively to ensure a seamless event, leveraging insights from previous editions. He also encouraged potential partners to support the committee’s efforts in enhancing Burkina Faso’s global image.
Ignace Berewoudougou urged committee members to increase their efforts, noting the increased participation of countries this year, which could present organizational challenges. The previous edition of the Tour International du Faso was won by Moroccan cyclist Mohcine El Kouraji.
