Douala: Security forces arrest 13 microbe gang members

A total of 13 men between the ages of 18 and 45 years suspected to be part of the microbe gang responsible for the attack that led to the death of a man known as Blaise Eyango in the Bali neighborhood on September 20, 2024 have been arrested by security forces.

On Thursday September 26, 2024, they were taken to Bali where they carried out the attack that also left many people injured for reconstruction of facts, in the watchful eyes of anxious onlookers and in the presence of the Littoral governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua.

‘I reiterate that we arrested bandits and not microbes because microbes are invisible. All those who have been spreading rumors that Douala is not a place to be due to insecurity have missed it. I want to make it clear that security measures are in place and all required from denizens is just denunciation of suspects and criminal activities to the security forces. ‘ Ivaha said.

While on the scene, victims recognized them and explained to the security officials how they threatened a
nd stabbed several persons. The suspects were ordered to demonstrate just exactly how they killed the man that fateful Friday evening.

Serge alias Drek, 31-year-old and an ex-convict was identified as the killer of Blaise Eyango. He demonstrated how he stabbed and killed his target.

‘All the bandits have been questioned and found guilty by the police. The killer of Blaise Eyango is among them and the dagger he used is at the Judicial Police. We won’t relent efforts to track down other gang members on the run. Majority have been arrested already’. Governor Diboua added.

The reconstruction of facts on Thursday was also an opportunity for the governor and his entourage to show to the public that the state is still standing firm and they walk on the path of justice.

‘I also want to warn other criminals out there they will end up like these culprits if they dare with the serenity of the city of Douala.’

The population of Bali hailed the fruitful action of the security forces and expressed a sigh of relief as
their attackers head to the New Bell Central prison.
