Ethiopian Delegation Visits New Cairo City in Egypt

Ethiopian delegation including Mayor of Addis Ababa City Adanech Abiebie have visited New Cairo city which is being built in the eastern part of Cairo, Egypt.

New Cairo is a satellite city located in the eastern part of Cairo.

The delegation from various cities and institutions has visited the activities carried out to develop the countryside in harmony with the city and antiquity with modernity.

They also visited the reconstruction activities in the city of Cairo to relieve overcrowding and build a modern, versatile and comfortable city for future generations.

During the visit, discussions were held with the Cairo city administration on ways to modernizing cities and construction of infrastructures as well as the improvement of congested urban areas.

Members of the delegation said that the experiences obtained from the visits could be implemented in cities in Ethiopia as the two countries have close similarities in terms of culture, history and size of population.

The delegation includes Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abiebie, Alemtsehay Paulos, head of Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Minister, senior federal government officials as well as mayors of Adama, Bahirdar and Hawassa cities.

The visit was made following the visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Egypt on July 13, 2023, according to Office of Mayor of Addis Ababa.
