Manni: An advocacy workshop was held on August 23, 2025, in Manni to encourage the support of all local stakeholders for the introduction of malaria vaccination in the health district. For the District Health Management Team (ECD), this vaccine reinforces other means of prevention in order to reduce mortality and morbidity linked to malaria, especially in children under five years of age.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this new measure in the fight against malaria concerns children aged 5 to 23 months. To achieve this, they will receive four doses of the vaccine at the ages of 5, 6, 7, and 15 months. The workshop mobilized local authorities, health workers, community leaders, and technical partners around a shared commitment to raise widespread awareness among the population and support health facilities for effective implementation.
Emmanuel Tindano, Prefect and President of the Special Delegation of the Municipality of Manni, hailed this historic step in the fight against malaria and called on all stakeholders to spread the message to the communities. “The success of this initiative depends on everyone’s mobilization and awareness,” he emphasized.
