Indian Vice Admiral calls on Prime Minister

The Indian Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, on 27 April 2018, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.

In a statement Vice Admiral Luthra said that the purpose of his visit was to further consolidate maritime and defence cooperation between India and Mauritius. He pointed out that discussions with the Prime Minister focused on the ongoing cooperation programmes in various areas such as maritime surveillance and joint patrolling.

Other topics of discussions included the infrastructure and development activities of Mauritius and the provision of training in the field of maritime security.
