After their training session at the South field of the National Polytechnic Institute Houphouet Boigny on Thursday, players of Cameroon senior men’s national team were in a joyful mood heading to their hotel.
Players and officials sang and were in a jubilant mood.
Amid around 50 accredited journalists who covered the first 15 minutes of their training, Vincent Aboubakar and his teammates took advantage of the second day of training to perfect coach Rigobert Song’s directives.
The Indomitable Lions will open their campaign at AFCON 2023 against Guinea on January 15, 2024.
The clash is expected to take place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, Yamussoukro.
The Central African side will train behind closed doors in Yamussoukro.
The training session will be held between 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
It will take place 72 hours before their opener against Guinea.
Song’s side will also face holders, Senegal and Gambia in Group C.

Two people have been arrested in connection to the killing of a 29-year-old surveyor, who was murdered, Thursday Morning, as he entered his homestead at K24 Estate in Narok town.
Narok County Commissioner, Isaac Masinde, spoke after holding a closed-door meeting with Narok Governor, Patrick Ntutu and a security meeting at the Commissioner’s office.
Also in the meeting was the Narok County Assembly Speaker, Davis Dikirr and the Assembly’s Majority Leader, Dominic Lemain.
Masinde said the two arrested will help the police unveil more information about the murder of late Lawrence Nkamasiai, but called on any resident with any information that could lead to the killing of the young man to volunteer information with the police.
Masinde blamed those spreading fake news on social media, on allegedly increasing incidents of insecurity in Narok town, saying this was the first incident of killing in the area since November 2023.
He refuted claims on social media that a certain community was being targeted, saying
Narok County is a cosmopolitan county, where people from all communities live in peace.
‘No one should incite the other on issues of security in Narok County. What happened, yesterday, is an isolated case that we have to dig deep to know the cause of the murder. I call upon Narok residents, to desist from spreading propaganda on social media,’ he said.
Governor Ntutu mourned the death of the young surveyor whom he described as an intelligent and hardworking man.
The Governor said his Administration will install security lights and set aside a piece of land to build a police post, so as to curb cases of insecurity in the area.
Ntutu reiterated that the County is a peaceful County where every community is allowed to live and invest, but warned those who came from other counties, to embrace peace like the local residents.
He asked landlords in the busy town to keep a profile of their tenants, so that they can easily be identified in case of a crime.

e Nkamasiai to condole with the widow and her three-year-old boy.
Narok North Member of Parliament, Agnes Pareyio, who visited the home of the deceased also called for quick investigations on the killings.
Pareyio said issues of insecurity have been on rise in Narok town and its environs and called on the security team, to intensify patrols in the area.
Late Nkamasaiai will be buried tomorrow, Saturday, at his home in Leshuta area in Narok West Sub-county.
