Mandera County Launches Kamor Health Center


In an effort to ensure accessible healthcare, the Mandera County government has inaugurated the Kamor Health Centre in Mandera East.

The newly constructed Kamor Health Centre is anticipated to cater to the healthcare needs of over 15,000 residents in Mandera East.

It is equipped to provide maternity services, outpatient and inpatient consultations, as well as health awareness programmes, serving the Kamor locality in Mandera East.

Governor Mohamed Khalif emphasised its significance in enhancing the well-being of residents, reflecting the county’s commitment to healthcare improvement.

He announced plans to establish additional health centres in remote areas, particularly prioritising maternity care services.

Governor Khalif urged residents to collaborate closely with the health centre staff for effective healthcare delivery.

The establishment of Kamor Health Centre marks a strategic initiative to alleviate the strain on the County referral hospital, offering comprehensive healthcare services closer to co
mmunities.

Residents expressed gratitude to the county government, highlighting their anticipation for the health centre, which has been waiting for over 30 years.

Positioned strategically, this health centre serves as the primary point of contact for healthcare needs, aiming to alleviate pressure on the County Referral Hospital.

Through proactive healthcare initiatives, early detection, and timely interventions, the centre aims to enhance community health and well-being.
