Matungu MP Underscores The Need For Adequate Infrastructure In Schools


Matungu Member of Parliament (MP), Oscar Nabulindo, has stressed the need for improvement of infrastructure in schools to cater for the ever-increasing number of students joining the institutions.

This is after the Legislator handed three classrooms and a science laboratory to St. Maurice Mwira secondary School in Mayoni Ward, Matungu Sub-county.

He said the initiative comprising three classrooms and two science laboratories underscores his commitment to quality education.

‘I am dedicated to improving educational infrastructure as promised in my manifesto to provide a conducive environment for learning,’ he said.

He said the project was built under the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) and aims at building 20 more storey buildings within the area.

The MP added that with improved infrastructure, more students are set to join University and Tertiary colleges and be self-reliant in future.

He called on the elected leaders in the County, to work together to benefit the electorates a
nd realize the development goals.

MP advised farmers in the area to purchase subsidized fertilizer, to boost their harvest at the nearby Sub-county offices and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).

The Legislator gave a stern warning to cartels whom he claimed were denying farmers subsidized fertilizers and were operating in cahoots.

Nabulindo who spoke in his Constituency, yesterday, said the best-performed teachers and students in academics will be rewarded.

‘Investment in Education is important. We will build and upgrade our education infrastructure to offer effective, safe, and inclusive learning spaces,’ he said.
