Momo Division: 7 separatists embrace peace, join DDR centre

Seven men who recently dropped their guns in Widikum, Momo Division in the North West region have been presented to the administration of the region.

The ex-separatists surrendered thanks to the efforts of Senator Enwe Francis and the administration of Widikum who assured their security.

The ex-fighters with ages from 20 to 35 were presented to the Governor of the region on Saturday October 12, 2024 in Bamenda.

During their presentation in Bamenda, the Secretary General at the Governor’s office, Saidou Moussa reassured the ex-separatists that their security is guaranteed, as he called on others to drop their weapons and embrace the peace process initiated by the government.

The Coordinator of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration, DDR centre in Bamenda, Kum Henry revealed that the 7 new ex-fighters will join 502 others who are already in the centre.

Kum assured them that they will be well taken care of, together with their wives and children. He added that workshops like carpentry, building,
mechanics and schools are available at the centre.
