More than 4000 affordable housing projects for Uasin Gishu in progress

Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii has expressed gratitude to the Kenya Kwanza administration for making the dream of affordable housing a reality.

Dr. Bii said that working closely with the county governments, the Kenya Kwanza administration has brought the affordable housing dream and the provision of decent houses to Kenyans to life.

Speaking recently in Eldoret, the governor said there was significant development of affordable housing projects taking shape in Uasin Gishu County with more than 4885 units rapidly coming up in Kidiwa (220) units, Pioneer (2260) AMS (205) and Eldoret railway city 2200 units.

‘As a county, we have the opportunity and a responsibility to prioritize the development of quality affordable housing for the current and future generations as we continue to urbanize,’ said the Governor.

He added that the housing projects had also created employment opportunities for the women and youths working on the construction sites.

Dr. Bii also said that with the conferment of Eldoret mun
icipality to city status in August this year, the county had embarked on improving infrastructures, including upgrading roads, drainage, and sewerage and enhancing security.

The projects, he added are ongoing in Kipkaren, Langas, Kiplombe, and Maili nne areas of the county.

‘The rural areas of the county have not been left behind in infrastructure improvement, my administration has been able to grade more than 1700 kilometres and graveled an additional 700 kilometres of roads to ensure better connectivity and safe travel of our communities,’ said the Governor.
