MozzartBet commissions Shs3.5 million water project in Kericho

MozzartBet Company Kenya has commissioned a solar powered borehole valued at Shs 3.5 Million at Cheplel Primary school in Ainamoi constituency within Kericho County as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The water project is set to benefit six hundred households.

Addressing the media, MozzartBet Country Manager, Sasa Krneta said the water project was a social responsibility undertaking to give back to vulnerable communities access clean water.

He noted that it was their 15th borehole project in the country adding that they will continue supporting communities.

‘The water project which we have invested Shs 3.5 Million. We also put solar panels so water will be pumped to the collection point without using electricity. Some of the communities we have assisted are Homa Bay, Busia, Kakamega, Machakos, Kitui and we will not stop here but we will continue supporting more vulnerable communities. So far MozzartBet Company Kenya has injected more than Shs 200 million to CSR activities,’ said Krneta.

Board Member at the Betting, Control and Licensing Board of Kenya (BCLB) body Anne Too commended MozzartBet for the initiative that is set to impact positively to the benefiting households.

The Head teacher of Cheplel comprehensive primary school Philip Sang commended the betting company for the initiative as previously the learning institution faced an acute shortage of water as pupils were forced to walk 3km to get clean water which led them to being absent in most of their lessons.

‘We have a population of 550 learners and water shortage has been our challenge in this school but with the drilling of the borehole the learners will not waste their time going to look for water covering long distances but now they will be in class. Academically the learners will be punctual and attentive in their classes. We have a massive gratitude to MozzartBet. The water project will also serve the communities around the school,’ said Sang.

An elated beneficiary Emily Maritim, commended MozzartBet for the clean water as
she will no longer have to walk long distances to look for water which she carried on her back using 20 liter plastic jerricans.
