My Dryva, a driving platform that connects passengers to drivers has equiped over two dozen persons with information and skills for safe driving.
This was during a workshop organised to commemorate the International Day of Driver’s celebrated every second Friday of May. My Dryva this year, focused on the theme; ‘Defensive driving, the way to go’. Awakening the sense of driving being safe over being right according to it’s mantra.
The Buea exchange brought together regional authorities of the ministry of Transport, doyen driving tutors, the professional drivers of MY DRYVA, and other road users.
Commencing with professionalism in driving, the participants learned on defensive driving the way to go, driving digital cars, the use of GPS in driving and the legal implications of non respect of road safety measures in Cameroon.
The representative of the South West Regional Delegate of Transport, the chief of service at the delegation for road transport, Etame Germain hailed the organisers and said the theme was
in context to make drivers more responsible.
‘I encourage My Dryva to continue on this part. From this exchange I think participants will be models to train others inorder to make zero accidents on our roads,’ Etame Germain lauded.
Through Q and A, extensive discussions were made with clarifications on topical driving challenges. The aspect of responsibility was buttressed as a key stabilizer.
My Dryva, founded in 2023 counts over 80 successful trips in 2024. Most of which were between Douala – Buea, and Buea – Bamenda. They have a mission to bridge the gap in transportation while providing professional driving services.
Tessa Lysinge, CEO of My Dryva said the exchange will be annual as the institution envisions conquering the 10 regions of Cameroon and then the African continent.
While certificates were awarded some My Dryva drivers who had successful completed a refreshal course in driving, awards of excellence were given two for outstanding contributions.
