Namentenga’s Youth Embrace Ideology of Progressive and Popular Revolution

Namentenga: The Secretary General of the province of Namentenga, Bassouleymane Ouattara, chaired a youth conference this Monday, August 4, 2025, focusing on the ideology of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP). This event was organized in commemoration of the anniversary of the democratic and popular revolution of August 4, 1983, led by the late Captain Noel Isidore Thomas Sankara, and as a precursor to International Youth Day, celebrated annually on August 12.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference, hosted by the provincial directorate of Sports, Youth, and Employment, included discussions on the ideology of the RPP through the presidential initiatives of Captain Ibrahim Traor©, Head of State. This event preceded International Youth Day, which takes place on August 12. The conference presented three key themes: the direction of the Progressive and Popular Revolution for young people, the roles and responsibilities of youth in consolidating Sahel states, and presidential reforms and initiatives aimed at fostering creativity and economic empowerment among young people. These topics were presented by Patrick Batieno, the Provincial Director of Sports, Youth, and Employment of Namentenga.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the content of the discussions and launched a plea for the province, specifically highlighting the lack of adequate road infrastructure. They expressed hope that the themes explored would benefit other young people traveling for their competitions. In their speeches, participants appreciated the advent of the Progressive and Popular Revolution under the leadership of President Captain Ibrahim Traor© and his team. They praised the quality of communications and the responses provided to their concerns regarding development issues in the province.

The conference attendees called for the establishment of road, sports, and administrative infrastructure in the province and emphasized the need to create conditions for employability for the province’s youth. The Secretary General of the province, representing the High Commissioner, commended the participants for their dedication and the quality of the discussions on the ideology of the Progressive and Popular Revolution.
