PALESTINIAN PRESIDENT TO ADDRESS AFRICAN SUMMIT

RAMALLAH, Palestine, Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, will head to the Ethiopian capital, to take part in the African Union Summit, which will be held in Addis Ababa, on Sunday (tomorrow) and Monday.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Representative to the African Union, Nasri Abu Jaish, said that, President Abbas would deliver a keynote speech on Sunday (tomorrow), and meet a number of African leaders and officials.

The delegations will endorse a Palestinian resolution, stressing the African Union’s (AU’s) stance, which rejects the Trump Declaration, recognising Al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

The AU’s foreign ministers, debated the Palestinian draft resolution, during their preparatory meetings, on the eve of the summit.

The draft resolution rejects the transfer of the US Embassy, calls for an end to settlement policies, and urges international protection for the Palestinian people.
