PM Meets With Leaders of Institutions, Countries on Sidelines of Paris Summit

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held discussions with leaders of various institutions and countries on the sidelines of the New International Financial Agreement Summit in Paris.

During his stay in Paris, the premier had discussion with Ajay Bangan, the new President of the World Bank. On the occasion, the prime minster has called on the Bank to strengthen its response to new challenges such as climate change, pandemic, and conflicts. Similarly, in the discussion he had with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, he asked that the organization respond to climate change problems in particular.

In his speech to the summit, Prime Minister Abiy stressed that reforms should be made in the international financial institutions to meet the needs of African countries.

Following the conclusion of the New International Financial Agreement Summit in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron bid farewell to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
