Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day Marked in Addis Ababa

The Embassy of Saudi in Addis Ababa has marked the 93rd National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The 93rd Saudi National Day is being observed under the theme of “This is Our Home!”

Here in Addis Ababa, the day was marked on Monday in the presence of diplomats, government officials and other guests at an event organized by the embassy.

Addressing the occasion, Deputy Director General for Middle East, Asia & Pacific Countries Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nigussu Kebede said Ethiopia’s ongoing reform in multiple fronts is a great opportunity to further enhance the already existing excellent partnership between Ethiopia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“The government of Ethiopia is taking measures of reform in multiple fronts which could be a great opportunity to cooperate and coordinate efforts to further enhance the already existing excellent partnership between our two countries.”

Saudi Arabia has firmly established itself as one of the leaders in the international development and investment financing, he affirmed.

“I sincerely believe that the prevailing conducive atmosphere and the strong interest between our two sides to nurture the relations will help us to explore new avenues cooperation.”

Economic transformation through investment driven growth is a priority of Ethiopian government, he pointed out.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Fahad Obaydallah said for his part that his country is committed to further strengthen the two countries relations in various spheres.

Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia have recently agreed to further strengthen their bilateral relations, including about Ethiopians residing in Saudi Arabia, it was learned.

The relationship between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia is long-standing, historic which has been firmly established by people-to-people ties over the centuries, according to information obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The solid foundation of bilateral relationship and partnership was laid with the First Hijra in the 7th century when Ethiopia welcomed the followers of the Prophet Mohammed by providing sanctuary and hospitality.
