Seno: The Regional Special Delegation Equips Combat Forces with 200 Motorcycles and 10 Drones

Dori: The governor of the Sahel region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, president of the regional special delegation, handed over a large batch of equipment on Wednesday to the commander of the 4th military region, battalion chief Amadou Sanou as part of citizen mobilization in the face of the security challenges facing Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation consists of 200 motorcycles, 10 drones, spare parts, and lubricants. The ceremony, held at Camp Liptako in Dori, mobilized the Sahel region’s military establishments.

In his speech, Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo explained that this gesture is part of a citizen mobilization in the face of the security challenges facing Burkina Faso. According to him, the Sahel regional special delegation wanted, through this support, to express the solidarity and commitment of the population to support the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

“Burkina Faso is engaged in a fierce fight against terrorism and it is appropriate for every citizen to contribute to this peace effort,” he declared.

The governor also emphasized the expectations of the population with regard to the fighting forces, emphasizing that the security of people and property remains a shared priority.

The equipment provided consists mainly of off-road motorcycles, surveillance drones, and spare parts. This equipment is intended to strengthen the operational mobility of the forces on the ground.

According to Mr. Karim Zongo, the acquisition of these logistical means aims to improve the rapid reaction capacity of the FDS and the VDP, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.

The drones, for their part, will help intensify surveillance and collect strategic information useful in the reconquest of the national territory.

Upon officially receiving the keys to the vehicles and associated equipment, the commander of the 4th military region, Battalion Chief Amadou Sanou, expressed his deep gratitude. For him, this support comes at an opportune time, as the sustained pace of security operations has severely strained the available rolling stock.

“This donation is a real breath of fresh air for our troops. It will not only strengthen our logistical capabilities, but also increase our effectiveness on the ground,” he said.

Battalion Commander Amadou Sanou reassured that the equipment will be used rationally and judiciously, in strict compliance with operational needs. He also emphasized the need to maintain and strengthen collaboration between the FDS and the civilian population.

For him, the fight against insecurity cannot be won without collective commitment.

Through this donation, the Sahel Regional Special Delegation illustrates the willingness of the population to take part in the national war effort. By providing substantial logistical resources, it provides a concrete response to the needs of the fighting forces and demonstrates civil-military solidarity.

For both the authorities and the soldiers, this gesture represents a further step towards the reconquest of territory and the consolidation of peace in the Sahel region.
