Unity, Solidarity Demonstrated in Green Legacy Needs to be Replicated in All Dev’t Endeavors: GCS

The Minister of Communications, Legesse Tulu remarks that unity demonstrated on planting trees in Ethiopia must also be demonstrated on building national peace and development.

Millions of Ethiopians across the country are planting trees today pursuant to the national call to plant half a billion trees from dawn to dusk in a single day.

The Minister said that Ethiopians of all walks of life are planting trees from 6 A.M in the morning today despite of the rain.

Legesse said that he has already planted many trees and expects to pant some 100 trees during the day.

As Ethiopia has been suffering from recurrent drought, greening the country will not only prevent the effects of climate change but will also help to ensure food security for the nation, Leggese added.

The unity and solidarity demonstrated in the Green Legacy Initiative needs to be replicated to all development endeavors of the country, Legesse said.

In as much as we are planting trees in unison, we need to also strive to ensure the establishment of a democratic country whose peace and tranquility is ascertained, the minister stated.

Government Communication Services Minister Legesse Tulu stressed the need to replicate the unity and solidarity being demonstrated in the Green Legacy Initiative in all development endeavors of the country.
