Bale: The Sababougnouma youth association of Bana carried out rehabilitation work on the main road of the village damaged by rainwater on Tuesday, September 17, 2025. Young people from Bana, invited by the Sababougnouma youth association, restored several busy roads, long degraded by rainwater and traffic, using shovels, daba, machetes, and tricycles. They weeded the edges of the roads and filled holes with local materials.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the volunteers extended their civic outreach to the health and social development center, the police station, and the community hostel. After their visit, the weed-free areas looked great and traffic flowed more easily. The president of the association, Modou Coulibaly, stated that this initiative aims to facilitate the movement of residents, provide easy access for visitors, and enhance the cleanliness of the village. It also seeks to strengthen solidarity and well-being within the community.
The village elders expressed their admiration for the young people’s commitment and offered advice to encourage more initiatives like this. Karim Coulibaly, the president of the village development council, praised the civic engagement of the youth. Similarly, the customary chief of Bana, Pakoun Konate, congratulated the association for this action, stating it “honors the village and shows the way to future generations.”
The Sababougnouma association of Bana, created in 2010, brings together several young residents of the village. It is committed to promoting solidarity and local development. The association plans to multiply such initiatives to benefit local development in Bana through the contribution of its sons and daughters.
