Rio de janeiro: The Third Meeting of BRICS Sherpas and Sous Sherpas for 2025 commenced in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Ethiopia is actively participating in the discussions, which are focused on negotiating the draft BRICS Leaders Declaration among other significant topics.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Ethiopian delegation extended its congratulations to Brazil for its effective leadership during its tenure as the chair of BRICS. The delegation acknowledged the year-long activities and achievements in areas such as global governance, trade, investment and finance, climate change, artificial intelligence, and global health, and expressed their commitment to working towards reaching a consensus.
The ongoing meeting will continue to address various agenda items that are crucial in laying the groundwork for the upcoming Seventeenth BRICS Leaders’ Summit, scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 6-7, 2025.
