Liptako’s First Patriotic Immersion Class Graduates 337 High School Students

Liptako: 337 new high school graduates from the region complete their compulsory patriotic immersion at the Liptako military camp on Tuesday, in pouring rain. The graduation ceremony brought together administrative, military, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as parents and friends who came to cheer on the young people.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the official graduation of this first class took place in the parade ground of the Dori military camp. Despite the rain, families and constituent bodies were keen to mark their presence. The representative of the immersed, Mariam Tall, expressed her gratitude to the supervisors for their dedication, the parents for their sacrifices, and all the goodwill that made the program a success.

She urged her comrades to keep the lessons learned alive. ‘May our actions resonate like a patriotic song within our African society and may the rest of the world forever acclaim,’ she said, adding, ‘Let us all rise together, with pride and determination, to be the bearers of our national values and the builders of a better future.’

According to the commander of the regional training center of the 4th military region, Captain Thomas Dakin Ilboudo, the training covered varied themes essential to civic awareness.

The young people thus addressed the fight against violent extremism, the roles and functioning of institutions, geopolitics, globalization and sovereignty, as well as the political history of Burkina Faso through the Democratic and Popular Revolution.

The program also included national symbols, national heroes, and regional and international issues. In addition to theoretical courses, modules on cultural diversity, endogenous crisis resolution mechanisms, coexistence, and social cohesion were provided. Participants were also educated on digital citizenship and cybersecurity through practical workshops.

Captain Ilboudo took the opportunity to thank the military hierarchy, the regional directorate of secondary education, the teacher-researchers, experts, supervisors, and instructors for their involvement. He also praised the administrative, customary, and religious authorities who have provided their constant support to this program.

The High Commissioner of Seno Province, Wulfran Emile Firmin Bamas, for his part, urged the immersion students to put into practice the skills and attitudes they have acquired. “The future of our country rests on you. Make what you have learned a tool in the service of the Nation,” he said.

This first experience of patriotic immersion in Liptako illustrates the authorities’ desire to strengthen national awareness and a sense of duty among young people. The 337 graduates thus leave with a halo of new knowledge, powerful human experiences, and a spirit of cohesion that prepares them to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The graduation ceremony for Liptako’s first class of patriotic immersion students marks an important milestone in the civic education of young Burkinabe. By emphasizing the values of patriotism, resilience, and responsibility, this initiative contributes to building a youth that is aware and committed to the future of Burkina Faso.
