Brest: Mavi Garcia’s aggressive approach paid off as the Spaniard became the oldest stage winner of the Tour de France Femmes. The Liv-AlUla-Jayco cyclist boldly opted for a solo break with 10km remaining and opened up a gap of around 20 seconds to the chasing peloton. Garcia held her nerve through the final climb of the 110.4km between Brest and Quimper to seal the first stage victory of her career.
According to BBC, the stage two results saw Garcia finish first with a time of 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 26 seconds. Hot on her heels was Lorena Wiebes of SD Worx-Protime, trailing by just 3 seconds. Kim Le Court Pienaar from AG Insurance-Soudal, Liane Lippert of Movistar, and Marianne Vos from Visma-Lease a Bike followed closely, all clocking the same time as the third-place finisher.
The general classification after stage two puts Kim Le Court Pienaar in the lead with a total time of 4 hours, 37 minutes, and 25 seconds.
