IATF 2025: Algiers to Host Pivotal Intra-African Trade Event

Addis ababa: From September 4 to 10, Algiers will become the center of African trade as it hosts the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF). This event is not just an economic gathering but a representation of Algeria’s strong commitment to the continent’s future.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the preparations for the IATF 2025 have been described as a “work of projection and observation,” following extensive consultations on the fair’s organizational phase. This event is crucial in the evolving geopolitical landscape, offering Algeria a chance to showcase its ability to align economic goals with logistical and diplomatic skills.

The IATF 2025 provides a platform for Algeria to strengthen its position within the African economic sphere while showcasing its export potential. It is a strategic move to enhance intra-African cooperation, aiming to facilitate trade and integrate into the continent’s commercial momentum.

The fair also plays a significant role in the operationalization of the
African Continental Free Trade Area, highlighting Algeria’s commitment to regional integration. The political commitment to the event underscores Algeria’s resolve to transform it into a tool for sustainable economic diversification.

Algeria’s historical commitment to African unity is evident in its ongoing support for continental causes. The country’s leading role within the African Union and its election to head several AU bodies reflect this legacy, justifying Algiers as the host city for this significant event.

The preparations for the IATF 2025 involve extensive coordination across various sectors, including infrastructure, logistics, protocol, and communication. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune is committed to strengthening political alignment across the continent, aiming for a new growth dynamic powered by Africa’s internal capabilities.

The slogan “Africa for Africans,” a foundational pillar of Pan-Africanism, was first proclaimed from Algiers, and the city continues to play a crucial role in African
economic renewal. Through IATF 2025, Algeria aims to drive autonomous continental development.

President Tebboune’s strategy focuses on diversifying the national economy and strengthening African partnerships, aiming to move away from asymmetrical economic relations. The IATF 2025 is seen as a crucial instrument for promoting commercial exchange across a vast market.

Algeria is committed to making the IATF 2025 a benchmark event, showcasing its economic potential across the African continent. Algiers will not only host the event but also work towards realizing a shared vision for future trade relations.

The event is expected to symbolize a collective determination to enhance economic cooperation, reaffirmed by Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria. In a single week, Algiers will reconnect with its historical role as a significant African capital.

As the continent seeks new foundations, the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair in Algiers is set to become a beacon of economic exchange and ambition.
