The Blessing Private School Offers Free Education to Children of Fallen VDPs

Tapoa: The Blessing private school in Diapaga has opened its doors free of charge to all children of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell in their mission to secure Burkinabe territory, AIB learned from the school’s founder, Nana Couldiati.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the school’s founder, Nana Couldiati, emphasized the importance of providing free care to orphans of combatants. She stated that this initiative is an extension of her association “TinToodiba,” which has been supporting widows through income-generating activities since 2013. Currently, 300 widows benefit from this support, and nearly 700 children, including the first class in their final year of high schools and colleges in Burkina Faso, have been sponsored.

Nana Couldiati believes it is the responsibility of all Burkinabe to care for these children, as their parents sacrificed their lives for the country. “We cannot talk about patriotism without taking care of these children whose parents gave their lives for their country,” she expressed, noting that this gesture is her contribution to the development and training of the beneficiaries. She added, “We have a duty to help them grow up without feeling the loss of their parents, to give them hope that tomorrow will be better.”

Couldiati further urged that “The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, cannot do everything alone; we must commit to supporting him.”

The school, which opened in 2015, is available to all orphans without distinction. It consists of six classes, two stores, a borehole equipped with a castle, and employs seven teachers, a caretaker, canteen workers, along with providing furniture and teaching materials, all supported by Nana Couldiati. Additionally, the school offers uniforms, kits, and salaries for teaching and support staff. With an increasing demand, Couldiati seeks support, particularly for teacher care.

Lompo Amiyabidi, the school’s director, provided a satisfactory assessment and expressed hope for the establishment of the private Blessing college for the happiness of the population. He remarked that the patriotic gesture of the school’s founder deserves special recognition from the highest authorities, as her noble and honorable work provides relief to the beneficiaries. The initiative of free education for the children of fallen VDPs is a significant contribution, and Amiyabidi encouraged others in Tapoa to follow in Nana Couldiati’s footsteps.
