Sanguie Mobilizes Support for President Traore’s Revolution

Ouagadougou: The Place de la Nation in Reo witnessed an exceptional gathering as the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC), Sanguie province, organized a significant meeting to support Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traore. Thousands from Sanguie’s ten communes displayed their commitment to the ‘Progressive and Popular Revolution’.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event featured prominent figures like AES Commission President Bassolma Bazie and Justice Minister Edasso Rodrigues Bayala, who encouraged support for Captain Traore’s leadership. Traditional, religious, military, and paramilitary authorities also participated, showcasing the initiative’s inclusive nature.

Provincial coordinator Basile Bationo welcomed the large turnout, viewing it as a strong endorsement of the head of state. He stressed that Traore’s rise to power was driven by a desire to save a struggling nation, with the Revolution aiming to rebuild Burkinabe society by combating imperialism and ensuring sovereignty. He concluded by urging unity to address current challenges, echoing historian Joseph Ki-Zerbo’s idea: “Unite or perish.”

Justice Minister Bayala highlighted Sanguie’s history of solidarity, citing financial contributions to the Patriotic Support Fund as evidence of ongoing commitment. He paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who ensure public safety. Bayala described the “Progressive and Popular Revolution” as grassroots social transformation and called for exemplary behavior.

Jean Bosco Bazie, representing the sponsors, encouraged the youth to support the transition leader, recognizing his sacrifices. He warned against those obstructing progress, emphasizing a no-tolerance approach to betrayal.

The event featured musical performances and prayers from traditional and religious leaders, affirming the president as a “gift from God.” The gathering not only reinforced support for the Revolution but also called for unity, sacrifice, and civic engagement.

A fundraiser collected 406,150 francs for the FDS and VDP, along with food and military shoes.
