An Association Offers School Supplies Worth 200,000 CFA Francs to IDP Students in Tenkodogo

Boulgou: The president of the Conscious Youth Movement Association, Latifatou Sana, handed over school supplies worth 200,000 CFA francs to internally displaced students in the commune on Thursday in Tenkodogo. The initiative was part of her public service activity, which coincides with her birthday, celebrated on August 3 each year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Latifatou Sana explained that she initiated the collection of school supplies with the support of her friends to aid internally displaced children in their education and alleviate the burden on parents facing numerous challenges. She emphasized the role of education as a crucial lever for the future, necessitating collective involvement.

In 2024, to commemorate its anniversary, the association launched a tree-planting campaign. This year, it decided to support students in vulnerable situations, enabling them to better prepare for the upcoming school year. The official handover of the supplies was attended by Sami Berenger Pooda, the president of the special delegation of the commune of Tenkodogo, who commended the initiative and encouraged other volunteers to emulate this example.

He noted that such citizen actions bolster the efforts of local and national authorities in addressing the needs of internally displaced persons. The ceremony underscored the significance of solidarity and civic engagement in advancing education. Latifatou Sana remains committed to continuing social initiatives annually to benefit her community, involving her friends and partners in tackling local development challenges.
