Buuri MP Supports Youth Talents

Buuri MP Mugambi Rindikiiri has affirmed his resolve to help young people from his constituency exploit and nurture their talents in order to earn a living.

In line with this, the MP held various events in each of the five wards in the constituency yesterday where young people displayed their prowess ranging from martial arts, dancing, fine arts, and acrobats, among others, with a view to picking the best of the talents.

The winners at the ward level will meet in a grand finale to be held later this month.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Rindikiiri said this was one way of helping the young people realise their potential and evade the temptations of indulging in drug abuse and other criminal activities.

He said the programme will be featured at least twice every year to build youths’ abilities to a spectacular level. The event was the first of its kind to be held in this constituency.

‘I believe that if we are to achieve our goal of being an aspirational nation, then young people need to be given a chance,’ said Mr. Rindikiiri.

The MP also promised to organise the young people and help them access government funds, including the Hustler Fund, Youth Enterprise Fund, and Uwezo Fund, as well as funding from the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority.

‘We want to bring all our young people together to help them nurture their talents and, above all, empower them economically in order to ensure that they have a strong foundation in life,’ said Mr. Rindikiiri.

To help them gain experience and access to online jobs, the MP promised to ensure there was a computer hub in every ward where musicians could also access recording equipment.

‘We all know that talent is money, and, in this view, we will also set aside money from the National Government Constituency Development Fund, which will be used to acquire the required equipment,’ said Mr. Rindikiiri.
