Nando: On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Koudougou Regional Hospital Center (CHR), in partnership with the Association of Retirees of the Commune of Koudougou and the National Center for the Fight against Blindness (CNLC) of Ouagadougou, will organize, from October 7 to 9, 2025, a vast campaign of screening and cataract operations, AIB learned from the CHR communications department.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aims to screen 600 patients, operate on 200 cases of cataracts and strengthen the skills of local medical teams in the management of eye conditions. The Director General of the Koudougou CHR, Mrs. Habibou Ouedraogo/Kabore, invited all retirees in the Nando region, and in particular those in Koudougou and its surrounding areas, to take advantage of this opportunity to benefit from free screening and, if necessary, surgical treatment for cataracts.
Mrs. Ouedraogo/Kabore emphasized the importance of the campaign, stating, “Together, we can restore light and hope to our seniors by reversing avoidable blindness.” This campaign highlights the collaborative effort to address eye health issues among the elderly population, providing vital medical services and enhancing the capabilities of local healthcare providers.
