PM Abiy Returns Home After Concluding IDA Summit in Nairobi


Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed concluded his participation in the IDA Summit and has returned to Ethiopia.

Prime Minister Abiy participated at the International Development Association (IDA21) Heads of State Summit, which has taken place today in Nairobi, Kenya.

Addressing the Summit the premier urged IDA to significantly enhance its financial capacity and funding models, specifically increased support for crisis, preparedness, response and recovery is essential,

Abiy also said Ethiopia has been harnessing resilience in the face of a spectrum of challenges aggravated by external forces, such as climate change, geopolitical tension, and the soaring global cost of living.

‘The Ethiopia government has navigated structural, macro-economic reforms, amid challenges focusing our attention on macro financial stability, productivity enhancement, and favorable investment environment,’ he stated.

Spearheaded by the National Dialogue Commission, dialogue and reconciliation are central to our peace aspiration

With a focus on accessible education and youth empowerment, Abiy indicated Ethiopia aims to create over 2 million new jobs, while prioritizing universal energy access, digital transformation, and environmental stewardship through initiatives like the Green Legacy Initiative.
